London-based credit hedge fund Arini Capital Management is rolling out its first dedicated asset-based finance fund, according to 9fin sources.
Arini’s ABF strategy focuses on property, commercial finance, and consumer credit loans across the UK and western European mid-market, according to a June white paper. It sizes the market opportunity at about €4.2trn in Europe, and roughly $5.5trn in the US, according to the paper.
The firm’s ABF expansion also speaks to a wider trend in private credit. In the last 12 months, as the taxonomy of private credit evolves and non-direct lending strategies mature, hedge funds have introduced dedicated private credit strategies to their more liquid credit line-ups. Examples include Millennium Management’s $5bn debut private credit vehicle and Point72 Asset Management’s $1bn dedicated ABF fund.
Arini, founded in 2021 by Credit Suisse high-yield trader Hamza Lemssouguer, manages $21bn across public and private credit investments as of Q2 26.
Arini declined to comment.
