At this point it is received wisdom that there will never be enough assets to keep every European CLO manager happy. There are only twice as many CLO managers in the US compared to Europe, despite that market having a much bigger pool of assets to draw on — 9fin data shows leveraged loan issuance has been over five times higher in the US than Europe in 2024.
