What do we look for in potential new hires?

What does the hiring process look like?
đ Step 1: Apply
See a role that aligns with your background and interests? Please apply to the position and upload your CV/resume. Cover letters are not required, but always welcome.
Someone on our talent team will review your application as soon as possible. We try and get back to everyone within a week or two, but with more popular roles it may take a bit longer. We know how much time and effort it takes to apply to jobs, so we will always do our best to get back to you regardless of what the outcome will be.
đŹÂ Step 2: Interview
Youâve been invited to interview with us! So, what can you expect next?
Our interview process varies slightly depending on the role you apply for, but generally the process will go something like this:
- Recruiter Call:Â Youâll have a 20-30 minute Google Meet video interview with a member of our talent team. This will be an introductory interview to go over your background, motivations, and compensation expectations. This will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the role, the team, or the company as a whole.
- Hiring Manager Call:Â The talent team will touch base with the hiring manager regarding your application and screening call. If we believe that the role is the right fit for you, we will progress to the next stage. Typically, you can expect to have another Google Meet video interview with the hiring manager to further discuss your background as well as the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the role.
- Case Study:Â For most of our positions, we will have candidates complete a case study to assess the technical skills that will be necessary for the role. We will give you time to complete this and then set up an additional video interview where you will present your case study to the hiring manager and another member of the team.
- Founder Call:Â The last stage of all interview processes at 9fin will be a call with one or both of our co-founders, Steven and Huss. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions about 9fin and for them to ensure that every person who joins us is invested in the company and passionate about their role.
If we decide not to progress with your candidacy at any point in the process, we will always let you know in a timely manner and provide feedback to the best of our ability.
đ Step 3: Offer
Congratulations, youâve received a job offer from 9fin! What happens next?
After receiving your verbal offer from the recruiter or hiring manager, you will receive an email that outlines your compensation, share options, and benefits. If you have any questions pertaining to these things please reach out to the recruiter that you have been in contact with.
You will also be asked to provide a few additional details including your full name, address, email, and proposed start date. This information will help our People Team prepare your employment contract. Once you review and sign the contract, you are good to go! We will be in touch with all of the information you will need before your first day, including remote equipment set-up and your first day schedule.
