MCP Acceptable Use Policy
Last Updated: 14 September 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) is incorporated into, and forms part of, the 9fin MCP Terms and shall be read together with the 9fin MCP Terms and the 9fin Terms of Service (each of which are available at 9fin.com/terms).
This AUP sets out the Approved AI Systems (as defined in the 9fin MCP Terms), authentication requirements, and usage limits applicable to the MCP Service (as defined in the 9fin MCP Terms). In the event of any conflict between this AUP and the 9fin MCP Terms or the 9fin Terms of Service, the 9fin MCP Terms shall prevail.
9fin may update this AUP from time to time. Each version shall display a version number and effective date. Continued use of the MCP Service after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
Approved AI Systems.
The MCP Service may only be used with an Approved AI System, in accordance with the 9fin MCP Terms. 9fin may add or remove Approved AI Systems from time to time in accordance with the 9fin MCP Terms. As at the date of this AUP, the Approved AI Systems are:
- Claude Chat
- Claude Code
- Claude Cowork
- ChatGPT
- Codex
- Microsoft Copilot
- Perplexity
Approval covers enterprise or business deployments only, not personal or consumer accounts. Any other AI System requires 9fin's prior written approval. Each Approved AI System must comply with the Technical Requirements set out in the 9fin MCP Terms.
Connections.
For information on connecting the relevant Approved AI System to the MCP Service, please see our MCP installation guidelines available at: https://9fin.com/settings/mcp (please note, you must be logged in to your 9fin.com account in order to view this page).
Authentication.
Authentication to the MCP Service is by the Authorised User's 9fin.com account credentials. On first connection to an Approved AI System, 9fin issues a session token bound to that Authorised User. MCP access is limited to that Authorised User's existing 9fin entitlements.
Usage Limits.
9fin sets and enforces usage limits at both the individual and organisational level, based on volume of data retrieved, request frequency, computational load, and concurrent connections. These limits protect the availability, performance and security of the MCP Service for all users and prevent, among other things, bulk extraction of MCP Data.
Client shall not, and shall ensure that its Authorised Users do not, use the MCP Service in any manner that:
- is excessive and/or exceeds any usage limits applied by 9fin from time to time;
- places an unreasonable or disproportionate load on the MCP Service, including through high-frequency automated querying, excessive concurrent connections, or abnormally large requests;
- degrades or materially impairs the performance, availability, or quality of the MCP Service for 9fin or any other user; or
- is designed or reasonably likely to circumvent any rate limit, throttle, access control, or other technical safeguard applied by 9fin.
9fin may monitor usage patterns and, where it reasonably determines that Client's usage breaches or is reasonably likely to breach this section, 9fin may throttle, restrict, or suspend access to the MCP Service in accordance with the 9fin MCP Terms.
Nothing in this section limits 9fin's right to apply and/or adjust reasonable usage limits from time to time. Client may contact 9fin at team@9fin.com if a legitimate use case is affected.
